Spring has sprung!
Here we are, greeting a
new season. For nature. For ourselves and our lives.
Take a moment, and
travel with me. Close eyes if it helps.
Let’s go back to our
earliest spring season memories.
Recall what you loved
doing on those first warm days.
Imagine as a child how
surprised we were to see bushes, grasses, and trees that looked dead suddenly
come alive with green and all sorts of flowers.
Take in the smells,
sounds, and sights of your spring memories.
Look around to see the
people – siblings, neighbors, parents, etc. – who fill out the scene for you.
Stay there for as long
as you want.
Spring is truly a
magical time in that way – nature shows us that being dormant is far from being
dead. The winter is a time to rest and rejuvenate so that spring can bring new
life.
Where is it that you
want to see new buds grow this spring?
What do you want to see
blossom in your life?
Is any pruning back of
dead branches needed to spur some of this new growth?
What is going to be your
fertilizer and water supply?
May the growth be
beautiful and bountiful for each of you, in this spring season!
Beautiful reminder! I tried closing my eyes as you mentioned but couldn’t read the blog :). Love you buddy
ReplyDeleteThank you and your family for what you have created. Happy Spring !!!
ReplyDeleteI recall the dandelions, the sound of insects, and my grandmother spring cleaning and hanging towels and sheets on an actual clothes line to dry. I recall when I looked forward to my afternoon snack and my biggest decision was would I eat a grilled cheese or PB&J sandwich? It was a time when I wondered what time my first cousins would be dropped off so we could play hopscotch and kick ball after school. I remember looking forward to big Easter dinner after church. I’m smiling at the magic, the wonder, THE SIMPLICITY! WOW!!!! How do we get back to basic
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! Those last prompt questions will be shared with others!
ReplyDeleteStrangely, I tend to remember the times in early spring when the winter was still hanging on! Rocky Mountain National Park near Estes Park CO when we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary (one May, a few moons ago!) with our adult sons, trekking along a snowcovered ridge, with ice cleats firmly in place, climbing over a frozen waterfall just waiting to break free. The anticipation of a bursting spring is almost as good as the real thing! Dream and anticipate the richness of new growth and transformative change! Blessings...JR.
ReplyDeleteSpring is more than renewed growth, its a reminder of lifes cycle, all sesons are. As you stated, pruning the dead branches, there was also death. But the death of those old branches don't lose its purpose as long as the plant lives and grows. We must be like the plant, as being a new branch, live life to give meaning and purpose for the branch that gave us that life. Anthony, thanks for your blogs, they give myself reminders of why I'm here.
ReplyDeleteSuch great questions for this season, thank you!
